Improved Reproduction 

This part was made using an original OEM McCord heat shield and a reproduction Mopar P2946105 as a basis but with improvements on the known issues with part joining failures, dimensional control & form inaccuracy. It appears aesthetically the same once installed with the exception of the improved Tog-L-Lock joining method. This is NOT a licensed part bearing the Chrysler Pentastar and part number which are not easily visible once installed.  Color is natural as OEM - not painted.

• Fits driver's side 2863553 exhaust manifold

Material

Made from modern corrosion resistant material the same as used on the modern Hemi (meets Chrysler specifications). Aluminized coating is applied by a hot-dip process and coats the steel with a thin layer of aluminum for superior corrosion and heat protection. The gage is thicker than originals ensuring better dimensional control and part stiffness.

Validation

This part was not just manufactured, it was engineered and tested on a running 340 engine with multiple variables to ensure function and FUJI pressure mapping was utilized to assess bead geometry. Also to ensure ease of assembly, we used multiple cylinder heads with a wide range of casting dates for fitment verification. 

Assembly

The parts are assembled using BTM Tog-L-Lock® technology rather than the old "grommet" coining.  This is a much stronger and durable joining method.
